Founded in 1967 by E.L. Hathaway, the E.L. Hathaway Company began with one man and two helpers as a back yard business in a small building with some simple hand tools. Elton, being extremely talented with his hands in sheet metal skills, decided to use those skills to the benefit of the industrial market in Augusta. In 1968 his son "Jerry" came to work and together they began office remodeling and small scale sheet metal work.
